Barngeong Playground, revamped and ready for action!

Having lived close by to this playground when my kids were babies, I was eager to see the changes the council had made to the Barngeong Reserve play space.

It’s set amongst beautiful established trees (both native and deciduous) adjacent to an expansive grassed area, picnic tables and Barngeong Kindergarten.

My first impression was that it had been totally transformed. The overall playground footprint has increased slightly, but the amount of interesting equipment has increased two-fold.

With a variety of challenging activities for children of differing ages, my 2 and 4 year old boys both found plenty to keep them occupied.

A circular swing set with 6 swings – including 3 baby swings – climbing forte with 2 slides, rock climbing wall and pretend shop, spinning climbing structure, monkey bars, seesaw and rocking bumblebee give children a chance to run, play and use their imagination.

This playground is a vast improvement on what was there before, and a fantastic little suburban play space that’s worth paying a visit if you don’t want to go to a big, busy playground (as long as you avoid the kindergarten hours!) and one that we will definitely visit again.
